Traveling Box — a kouskysveta.cz initiative

1. Who runs this service

The "Traveling Box" service is operated by:

2. What the service is

"Traveling Box" is a voluntary community game in which we ship tagged cardboard boxes (the "Box") carrying a QR code and follow them as they travel between people. Whoever receives a Box can scan the QR code, record the city they're in, leave a message for the next keeper, and pass the Box along. The service is available at kouskysveta.cz/box/.

Using the service is entirely voluntary and free of charge.

3. Who can use the service

  • Anyone who physically receives a Box.
  • Users under 16 should only participate with the consent of a legal guardian, especially when entering an e-mail address.
  • Providing an e-mail, nickname, or photo is optional — a Box can be passed along anonymously.

4. What the user agrees to when using the service

  • Enter the true city where the Box actually is.
  • Any message must not be offensive, vulgar, racist, sexually explicit, or harmful to other participants. The same applies to nicknames and photos.
  • Do not upload photos of other people without their knowledge. Uploaded photos must not infringe third-party copyrights.
  • Do not attempt to bypass anti-spam measures, do not cheat to obtain discount coupons, and do not use the service to send advertising.
  • Do not attempt to break the service — do not abuse QR codes or Box secret keys and do not run automated attacks.

5. Messages, photos, and the public map

  • A message is by default shown only to the next person who scans the Box ("message in a bottle"). The user may optionally make the message public.
  • Photos and nicknames may appear on the Box's public dashboard and on the public map. A user may hide their stop from the public map.
  • The Operator reserves the right to remove any message, photo, nickname, or stop at any time without notice if it violates these Terms or applicable law.
  • The Operator may suspend a specific Box if abuse is detected.

6. Discount coupons

If the reward program is enabled, a user who passes a Box along may receive a one-time discount code for the kouskysveta.cz shop. For coupons:

  • Each coupon is tied to a specific e-mail (sender) or a specific Box hand-off (receiver).
  • Coupons are single-use and non-transferable.
  • Coupons cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • The Operator may invalidate a coupon in case of abuse or reasonable suspicion of fraud.
  • Validity, discount amount, and redemption conditions are governed by the terms of the kouskysveta.cz shop.

7. E-mail notifications

If the user enters an e-mail and consents, the Operator may send:

  • a confirmation after passing the Box along (possibly including a discount coupon),
  • a notification when someone else scans the Box,
  • reminders (after 7 and 30 days) if the Box does not move onward.

Every e-mail contains an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes the e-mail from the system and stops all further notifications.

8. Service availability

The service is provided "as is". The Operator aims for high availability but does not guarantee it. Outages, errors, or temporary unavailability may occur and the Operator is not liable for them.

9. Liability

The Operator is not responsible for:

  • loss, damage, or theft of the Box while in transit,
  • content of messages, photos, or nicknames submitted by other users,
  • damages arising from the use of a discount coupon,
  • e-mail delivery failures on the side of the user's e-mail provider.

10. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our separate Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these Terms

The Operator may update these Terms at any time. The current version is always available at kouskysveta.cz/box/podminky-sluzby/. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Czech law. Disputes are handled by the general courts of the Czech Republic.
